When Modern Combative Systems started thinking about pursuing sponsors we knew there was going to be a problem. All of us are set in our ways and are serious about our gear and it would take a lot to use something new. So we decided to contact companies that made gear that we had been using and recommending anyway.

One of the companies at the top of that list was The Wilderness. Specifically their belts. All of us were wearing them anyway.

After making contact with Wilderness and telling them what MCS was all about they were pleased to get onboard. Since everyone already had Instructors belts we decided to opt for the Frequent Flyer.

I have to tell you that I was not totally sold on the Frequent Flyer because of the Delrin loops instead of the parachute rigger type hardware I had come to know and love. Even though I hate to admit it, I was wrong. This has become my favorite belt.

You can’t tell by looking at my Frequent Flyer that I have been wearing it everyday since October 07’. It is nice and stiff and has no problem supporting a pistol and spare magazines. Too many people fail to understand that a good belt is the platform of any carry system. A $500 pistol, in a $100 holster on a $10 belt, you know the type.

The marketing behind the Frequent Flyer is that because of the Delrin loops it has no metal signature so you don’t have to remove it to pass through security when you fly.

The bottom line is whether you need to carry gear or just hold your pants up and need one good belt, the Frequent Flyer is the way to go.

A perfect example of Wilderness’ customer service is the fact that they will re-velcro a belt no matter how old. You just have to send it to them and pay shipping.
